Team Pumpkin Boxing Gym at Merry Hill

I popped into Merry Hill Shopping Centre on Saturday to support the Team Pumpkin boxing gym.

The gym from Brierley Hill set up a boxing ring in the centre of the shopping centre to encourage more young people to try the sport and understand the health and mental benefits.

Welcoming local campaigner to Parliament

I invited the lead campaigner against the town’s railway ticket office closure to parliament this week to see Prime Minister’s Questions.

Cervical Cancer

I attended a Westminster reception for Cervical Cancer Prevention Week.

I joined the charity Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Victoria Atkins at the event on Wednesday.

Lye Football Club

I visited Lye Football Club to meet the chairman and staff and back a call for more volunteers to help look after the ground.

I was joined by councillor Dave Borley for the visit with chairman Brian Blakemore and general manager James Didlock.

Netherton Micro Library

I cut the ribbon to open a new micro library at the Netherton Green Nursing Home.

I was joined by Netherton Councillor Damian Corfield for the opening of the new facility.

MMR Vaccine

I am urging parents to ensure their children have received both doses of the MMR vaccine as cases of Measles continue to rise in the West Midlands.

Local Transport Survey

Pre-Metro Operations Limited (PMOL), who run our Stourbridge Shuttle, are looking into providing a new transport service from Stourbridge to the Waterfront (Merry Hill) via Brierley Hill. This would be our very own Stourbridge Dasher.

Pop-up surgery

I held a pop-up surgery at Tesco’s in the Crown Centre on Saturday.

Residents came to talk about issues or just say hello during the morning session.
