Black Country Day

I celebrated Black Country Day with fellow Black Country MPs, and it was brilliant that the Prime Minister wanted to join in.

Glasshouse College Graduation

I visited Glasshouse College as a guest at its leavers’ ceremony along with Deputy Mayor Pete Lee. The college educates children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, including a focus on finding work.

Talbot Hotel Visit

I was given a personal tour of the refurbished Talbot Hotel ahead of its grand reopening at the end of July.

Manager Catherine Growcott kindly showed me around the 54-room hotel that dates back to the 17th century.

Westminster Dog of the Year

I have entered my cocker spaniel Sid into this year’s Westminster Dog of the Year competition.

Covid and the Queen’s death has thwarted Sid from entering in the past so it is third time lucky for him at the annual competition run by the Dogs Trust and the Kennel Club.

Amblecote Party in the Park

It was lovely to attend the Amblecote Party in the Park, which was organised by the three brilliant councillors, Kamran, Paul, and Pete.

There were lots of stalls and activities including a pirate ship and bouncy castle.

International Trade Minister visits Andy Freight

International Trade Minister Nigel Huddleston and I visited Andy Freight in Lye to meet with the owner Andy Pountney.

We talked with Andy about his £1.8 million investment into a new warehouse to create more storage space for stock. It will also create around five additional jobs.

Stourbridge businesses in Parliament

I hosted 30 local business leaders from the constituency at a networking event in Westminster.

Companies including QMP, Andy Freight, Brierley Hill Crystal, Argus Fire and Prospect Coaches came to London to meet with me on the Commons Terrace.

I had smashing time in Stourbridge over the weekend at the carnival and then at Mary Stevens Park for the summer concert.
