On Monday it was a day of volunteering and I would like to praise a brilliant volunteer Julia Marks and the Stevens Park, Wollescote volunteers for all they do for the park and for the services to cake!
I met Ryemarket manager Aaron Powell and we both vowed to work together on a series of initiatives to boost regeneration and retail in Stourbridge. We discussed the moves to make the town a Business Improvement District (BID) and to work on the Stourbridge Master Plan.
I visited Old Swinford Hospital School to congratulate two of their rugby teams, the under-15s and under-18s, for their recent triumph in the Continental Tyres Schools Vase competition held at Twickenham, the famous home of English rugby.
Like many people across the West Midlands, I have been horrified about the rise in knife crime that is leading to deaths and serious injuries in our communities.
I visited St Michael's Christian Pre-school in Norton to discuss the challenges the sector faces around funding. I met manager Sally Collins, her deputy Claire Powers, Peter Barber, the chair of the management committee, and Rev Jonathan Evans.
I had the pleasure of attending a Community Lunch with Camphill Village Trust on Easter Sunday.
The event was held at Ashfield Farm & Gardens on Sugar Loaf Lane, where I met Manager, Jenny Cadman, and Keith Williamson, who looks after the animals.
I spent a fabulous couple of hours being a volunteer barmaid at The Swan, Brettell Lane for their Sausage and Cider festival. Thanks to Aimee Evans who showed me the ropes for the event.
