In Stourbridge, we are served by excellent rail links to the rest of the region and beyond, with direct services to London and quick access to the existing main line and upcoming high speed rail lines in Birmingham. However, our rail links to the rest of the Dudley Borough need improvement.
I am so proud to have worked with Zach Eagling, the Epilepsy Society, Dean Russell MP and the Daily Express newspaper to make ‘epilepsy trolling’ a criminal offence within the Online Safety Bill.
Now more than ever, social media and the internet are hugely influential on our young people. I was proud to sit on the Draft Online Safety Bill Committee, which will enable ground-breaking legislation designed to protect young people from some of the worst effects of social media.
I know that crime and anti-social behaviour can have a devastating impact on our communities. I know that it is important for local residents and businesses to feel safe in our area.
To many people in Stourbridge, the green belt is a vital part of life. Providing beautiful landscapes to enjoy and experience and acting as a vital green barrier to stop urban sprawl, I recognise the important of the green belt in our area.
Cradley is an area that deserves proper regeneration and I am working with local councillors, campaigners, and residents to deliver outcomes that local people can be proud.
I continue to push to bring investment and regeneration to Lye. The area used to be, and should continue to be, a regional attraction for people to come and experience the various pubs and restaurants in the town. Local residents and businesses deserve better.
