It was a pleasure to pop into The Swan pub in Amblecote to pull some pints and congratulate the landlord and his staff on winning the pub of the year award.
The honour bestowed by Stourbridge and Halesowen CAMRA was much deserved for the pub on Brettell Lane.
I was a dab hand at pulling pints because I was a barmaid in my student days and I soon got back into the swing of it last Friday with manager Aimee Evans close at hand.
These have been tough times for our pubs because of covid and energy prices so winning such a prestigious award that tells people where they can get a good, well-kept pint is important.
