Visit to Thorns Collegiate Academy

Today I met with the Headteacher of Thorns Collegiate Academy and the Chief Executive of its parent Trust - Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust - to discuss the academy's recent 'Inadequate' Ofsted rating. 

I am pleased that the academy is taking a number of steps to alleviate parents' concerns and improve the school, particularly with regards to SEND provision. 

There is still work to do but I shall return to the school in the autumn to monitor their progress.
