Locally, our businesses are suffering the huge hike in national insurance increases businesses that include our:
hospices
the NHS
charities
social care providers
GP Practices and our
SME business
The hospitality sector, a huge part of our local economy, has seen its business rate relief slashed to 40%..
Politically, it remains a miserable time, with the recession looming ever closer. I suspect we are all tottering on a personal recession, tightening our belts, slowing down our spending, and waiting for the fallout from the rise in national insurance for employers.
This is the reality
Growth is halved.
Unemployment is expected to rise over the next three years.
As individuals, we are likely all experiencing a recession as our personal economic activity slows down.
The negative impact of Labourβs workersβ rights package is unknown but anticipated.
Tax hikes on businesses
Notably, as growth has been downgraded, we have already observed a decline in job vacancies and an increase in unemployment.
Please let me know where the positivity is???
