It would have been an enormous decision for this Wollaston and Stourbridge Town councillor to have stepped away from the Labour Party.
But he did it as he was not happy with the political decision to support the scrapping of the Winter Fuel Allowance.
BUT, shockingly, he has also stepped away due to allegations of cultural bullying within the party, which he would not tolerate.
It takes guts to walk away from bullies.
