Whatever one's view on the outcome of the election results on Thursday, one thing is obvious:

Labour is destroying Britain.

The country is being talked down, our borders are wide open, and we are being talked back into the EU.

We want low taxes, low immigration, and encouraging aspiration and entrepreneurialism.

We are a nation-state. We have the right to protect our borders.

We don’t want this socialist Government to go any “ Further, faster” as the Prime Minister and our MP think is the fix to their drubbing.

We want you to stop destroying our country, our jobs, our businesses, our farmers, our pensioners, our Green Belt and our very livelihoods.

I am not blind to the proportional hammering that the Conservatives received because this year’s elections took place primarily in Tory territory. But Labour also received a considerable drubbing in their heartlands.

But here is the thing—the combined votes of the Reform and Conservative parties in the county elections obliterated Labour, indicating that the country is more of a right-leaning country overall in its aspirations.

That fact alone should be a wake-up call to this Government: Their so-called landslide win in 2024 was loveless, and we are far from a nation of people who want to go back to the 1970s.

We are a nation of folk who want to protect our borders, have low immigration, and low taxes. We want to be a nation that creates opportunities for businesses and people to thrive under conditions of growth and personal aspiration.

Not much to ask for, surely. After all it is what they are paid to do.
