It was great to attend the 90th Birthday Party at Lye Library and celebrate not only its birthday but the work done following the additional funding.
The library was awarded a grant of £144,715 in April 2024 from the then government’s Libraries Improvement Fund, administered by Arts Council England, in April 2024, this was when I was the MP for the town.
It was fantastic to see the result of the hard fought funding.
The library was packed for the party with many friendly and familiar faces like the @Friends of Wollescote Park and, of course, our new mayor on his second outing.
The library is no longer a tired space but a bright and vibrant one.
A lovely morning was had
