Coronavirus Advice

This page has been designed to provide up-to-date information, guidance and advice with regards to Coronavirus (COVID-19) directly from official sources.

To help stop the spread of coronavirus and to protect our NHS from being overwhelmed, we must all stay at home except for in one of the following four scenarios:

  1. Shopping for basic necessities - food and medicine - as infrequently as possible.
  2. One form of exercise a day; a run, walk or cycle – alone or with members of your household. Please do not drive to this activity if you do not absolutely have to.
  3. Any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person.
  4. Travelling to and from work, but only where your work absolutely cannot be done from home.

If you need medical help, please use the 111 online coronavirus service.

If you, or a member of your family, have any of the symptoms of coronavirus such as a high temperature or a new, continuous cough, please see the Government's stay at home advice here.

The Government have announced a raft of support measures for individuals affected by coronavirus, including financial support, assistance to get essential supplies and support for people's well being. Anyone can check to see what support is available with the Coronavirus Support Finder.

Businesses are also being supported throughout this period too. There are a range of grants, rates relief, tax measures and loans on offer to help business. You can find out more here.

Dudley Council has launched its own advice website which can be found here. There are two local helplines for people who need support if they are having to self-isolate and cannot get supplies. There is the Dudley Council 'Pleased to Meet You' service on 01384 812 761 and the Black Country Radio helpline on 01384 465 375.
